Finding Our Focus
About Perspectives Consulting Group
Although Perspectives started in 1987, it took us until 2008 to find our focus. For our first 20 years, we worked with all type of organizations: governments, insurance companies, churches, restaurants, foundations, and newspapers – basically anyone who came in the door. But there was something missing. We still didn’t feel completely fulfilled by our work. That’s why in 2008, we left behind working for corporate clients and focused all of our efforts on helping nonprofits and public sector organizations.
The Power of Focus
After setting our sights on helping only nonprofits and public sector organizations succeed, we quickly gained very specialized knowledge of the work being done by these organizations. Years of conducting research specific to nonprofit and public sector organizations has allowed us to develop innovative new strategies for helping organizations like yours to achieve their goals, such as the Issue Focus Business Model for United Ways, and the Comprehensive Voter Approval Assessment for school districts.
Focused Beliefs
Our beliefs fuel our passion.
Love Our Work
Our goal is not to grow a business, but to do work we love. Because we do what we love, we care about our team, we care about our clients, and we care about changing lives.
Do A Few Things Well
The key to doing exceptional work is our focus. Because we specialize in nonprofits and public sector organizations, our services are also highly specialized. We will never be everything to everyone.
Better Together
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts; this is true for our team and our clients. We rise by learning from and empowering others. None of us can do it alone, but together, we are unstoppable.
Meet the Team
Every day, we are passionate about using our experience and expertise to empower nonprofits and public sector organizations to change lives. Some might call us perfectionists, but we take that as a compliment! Good just isn’t good enough for us. We push each other to be the best in all we do. We both love what we do, and we love getting to do it together.
Gary M. Goscenski
Senior Consultant
Gary focuses on guiding United Ways, school districts, and nonprofits in transforming their work. He has helped numerous organizations transform their work through research and strategic planning, things he learned from his marketing and management degree as well as nearly a decade in the news media. He is a frequent speaker at conferences where he is known as “the crazy tie guy.”
When he is not changing the world one organization at a time, he goes bicycling or running, dabbles in woodworking, and plays Scrabble. He is a big fan of disco music and believes dark chocolate should be the fifth food group.
Bryn Bogemann
Managing Consultant
Bryn brings her degree in public relations and her years of experience working with United Ways, school districts, and nonprofits together to provide guidance and support to organizations across the country. Passionate about quality research, Bryn is responsible for the research and reporting aspects of Perspectives’ work.
In her free time, Bryn loves to listen to copious amounts of podcasts ranging in content from true crime to current events. On any given weekend you can find her reading, crafting, and spending time with her fiancé and two cats. All of this is done with about a gallon of coffee, of course.
